Smaller snuggly lap dog breeds?
I looking to find a breed of smaller dog. I want to be able to fully research the breed before I bring one into my home. Im looking for a companion. One who loves snuggles, and can be a couch potato, but also can keep up with me for daily walks and a few camping trips in the summer.I WAS looking into a sheltie, however am a bit taken back by the level of maintenance due to their length of fur. I dont mind occasional trips to the groomer, baths and the like...but I dont want our whole relationship to be based on keeping their coat trimmed, combed, and perfect.I do like Boston terriers, and Pugs etc...but their squished faces worry me for heated summer camping trips.Any suggestions? Opinions on Cavalier king Charles? one Im about to start researching

Which lap dog breed is suitable for my Nana?
I've been trying to help my nana find a lap dog after her beloved dachshund passed away this year, but she doesn't want another dachsie because of the painful reminder. However she does want another dog, a small lap dog type, so in the toy group most probably.Requirements Affectionate and devoted one person dog.Not yappy noisy to excess because of neighbours.Doesn't need excessive grooming. She also doesn't like Shih tzu's, mostly because of the grooming and also because of the breathing problems snoring, sneezing, weeping eyes that make the face smell no offense to shihtzu owners.Must get on with other dogs and enjoy walks to the park.No cross breeds either...See the mission impossible task I have, since I'm the one with the internet I'm gonna help locate a good breed, research and find a litter to take my nana to.Any advice of particular breeds most welcome The good, bad and downwrite ugly. Thanks x

What is a good lap dog breed for a preteen with divorced parents?
My parents are divorced and I really want a puppy. A Yorkshire Terrier, Miniature Pincher, Chihuahua, etc. But I want a mutt mixed breed . Preferably a female. Here's the problem I can't be with it all of the time. Aside from being at school 35 hours a week I will only be able to enjoy the company of the puppy about two weeks a month 1 2 of the time . Im unsure if I should just wait until I am older and capable of spending most of my time with the puppy or if it would be okay to get it know? Yes, I do have experience with dogs My Dad and Step Mom have a 2 year old Miniature Pincher Chihuahua

What lap dog breed should I get?
I was just wondering about peoples opinions about lap dogs. And by that I mean no bigger than a cat. So I want to get a lap dog that is affectionate and not too independent and that is not a yappy dog that just barks at the door all the time. And it has to be trainable. Thanks everyone. Oh... I forgot to mention that I don't like dogs with really wiry hair like a Schnauzer or one that I have to clip all the time like a Maltese or a ShiTsu. And I don't mind shedding. Thank You

What's a really good energetic, but can be a lap dog breed?
Like a dog that will be all up for a walk but will be content curling up on your lap for some time. Please don't suggest Pugs, Shih Tzus, or Malteses, I don't really think those breeds is right for me.
