Small to medium dog breeds that would suit my lifestyle?
I have been asking a ton of questions lately concerning dog breeds because I may be getting a dog. So I have decided to do some research about breeds that would suit my lifestyle. I am favoring the idea of getting a small dog over a big dog so maybe you could suggest some smaller breeds preferably under 40 pounds? .I want a more active dog than my Chihuahua at this moment. I want to participate in agility and other dog sport events. I would supply around one to one and a half hours of daily exercise. A sturdy dog that is an overall healthy breed would be best. This would be my first dog to fully train and care for. So I would prefer a dog that is a quick learner and is not too stubborn and independent. I am most probably moving to South Carolina this year or the next and when I settle in there I can get a dog. So, the summers are hot there and I want a dog that isn't too bothered by the heat. Thanks ahead of time
Small/medium dog breeds?
I am thinking about getting a dog still considering it . I was doing research about difference breeds and it's so much info So I figured I'd ask other people who had dogs. I'm interested in dachshunds and pugs, particularly, but not sure of how they are. I'm looking for a small medium dog that would do well in an moderately sized apartment there is a dog park down the block, but I don't want to walk him 3 4 times a day . Intelligent Clever, playful, likes people but doesn't need them 24 7. Good with kids I don't have any yet but probably within the next few years . I have a cat, so I'm looking for a dog that gets along with other animals, too. My neighbors would appreciate a dog that doesn't bark alot. I know every dog is unique, but what are some breeds that generally have these traits? Are dachshunds and pugs good? Other suggestions? Thanks

Looking for small to medium dog breed that is good with young children.?
I am looking for a small to medium sized dog breed that is good with young children. I have a 15 month old that has just started walking, as well as an 8 and 13 year old. Will mostly stay inside. Would like a laid back lap dog that can sit in the chair with us and will play once in a while. Don't want yappy, hyper, or jumpy. Prefer low sheddingI like the terrier size but am worried about them jumping on, chasing, and nipping young children.Considering the following with noted concerns Miniature Schnauzer are they really barky? Do they have tons of health problems?Corgi concerned with toddlers? A lot of shedding?West Highland Terrier hyper, jumpy?Cairn Terrier great wtih kids but very unintelligent and hard to train?I have tried my local shelters but they won't allow adoption for households with children under 6. We currently have a blue heeler which is getting older, and used to have a French Bulldog, so I know that some breeds are kid friendly
Best Indoor large or medium dog breed????
I live in an apartment, and am looking to get a dog, but want a medium or large breed. I am willing to to walk and obviously take care of it, but was wondering if anyone knows a more suitable dog for the indoor condition?
What is a good small-medium dog breed?
I just need one that is 1. Small enough to sit in my lap, and hopefully would enjoy it, because I'm working on becoming homeschooled, and if I succeed then I would get working on a dog, and I would love them to sit in my lap mostly when I do my online schoolwork. 2. I would love the lower maintenance when it comes to grooming3. One that is naturally quiet for the most part, and hopefully I would be able to train them not to bark at all, I'm fine if they bark a bit but can be trained not to.4. Hopefully would eat not much in one day, to maybe cut down on how much money the food would cost me. Also, could you give me maybe an estimate on what the monthly care would be like, and how much money should be set aside for emergencies? If I did it, I would try and make a deal with my parents whee they pay for several things The spay neuter, the actual pet, and a cage, grooming supplies, leash and ID, and then I would continue with the monthly costs. i'm still working on my money, but I think I would end up with a budget of around 70$ a month, OK, about five seconds after I posted sigh I decided either a Beagle or a Border Terrier, what are the pros and cons? Which would you say would be better?

Medium Dog breeds, ideas please?
I want to get a dog in the next few months, and I've finally decided against getting a shiba inu, mainly because of their temperament. I'm looking for a dog that's not tiny, but not too big. Somewhere in between 18 30 lbs. I'm trying to see which will be most fitting. I'd like to go running with the dog, hiking, go to the beach, go to the park and play fetch, etc.Physically, i'm most interested in dogs that look like shiba inu, german shepherd, collie, alaskan klee kai, and miniature australian shepherd. Right now, i'm researching on the mini aussie shepherds, they seem to be very cool dogs. I'm not against mix breeds ideas, or anything. Any suggestions would help. Thanks
A small/medium dog breed?
I am looking for a small to medium sized dog that isn't yappy I live in an apartment so I don't want a noisy dog disturbing my neighbours , isn't too active, or requires me to be there with it all the time because it needs a lot of attention as I'll be away from about 7.30 or 8am to 4 so maybe a dog that doesn't mind being left alone for that long. When I do get back, I'll be taking the dog out for a long walk and I'll walk the dog in the morning before I leave. I don't mind spending time on grooming the dog but I don't really want tons of hair on my sofa or bed.And I don't particularly want a Chihuahua or a Yorkie as they are a bit too small and a bit too yappy.Any other suggestions are welcome Thank you
