Such as bad behaviour. I am not saying all small dogs. But do alot get treated like babies or are never told to stop growling or barking? I know some people with small dogs. Some are not bad but I noticed some are spoiled and get away with bad behaviour. I should add I do not hate dogs.I should point out my mom and a couple of other people that I know have small dogs that are not violent. But all three of these people I know have no problem telling their dogs no. Only one of these dogs wears a sweater and that dog shivers in the winter though

not all of them, but a lot of people with big dogs say little dogs " aren't real dogs" and can't do anything but " be cute and stupid" even though a lot of small dogs are of very high intelligence what the heck? how are they not real dogs? what leads people to want to invalidate them from the species they are obviously part of?eric, how are bigger domesticated dogs more " natural?" thanks to these answers, I know that people with large dogs don't know very much about small dogs...what does their ability to survive in the wild have to do with.... what? Also Do you honestly think that if you dropped a large domesticated dog breed off in the woods in the middle of nowhere with no protection or human contact, that it would be just fine? Believe it or not I've also had large dogs, which I loved for 16 years.The reason some dogs are yippy and biters when they aren't trained has nothing to do with their size or being " afraid of the world." For some popular small breeds it's in their disposition act as guard dogs.
How well do small dogs and cats get along?
I live in a spacious apartment with a 10 month old kitten. And have a neighborhood visitor cat I feed and protect from cold snow. If my location and finances allow, I would likte to adopt a small to medium size dog....preferably female since the cats are male and that might be too much alpha instinct stuff. I am fairly good knowledgeable in the introducing different domesticated species but am wondering about other peoples experiences...How well do small dogs and cats get along? The kitten likes to play with everyone and every thing furry so any recommendations tips?

My uncle is telling my brother that he can feed his dog chicken bones cooked , some nasty stuff he threw together which has a whole bunch of sauce. Some off brand dog food you can get from the dollar store. And some other crap. We told him numerous of times that he can't eat that because my brother dog will vomit. Then with the bones he'll start choking. He just don't get it. I think my uncle just jealous because he don't have no dogs. All his dogs died because he was feeding them bull crap. He fed them chicken bones, cereal, cat food, that off brand dog food you get from the dollar store, and even he tried to feed them dried kidney beans not cooked . We have other small dogs too. When they run out of dog food he would feed them beef with out bones mixed with rice. Sometimes chicken with out the bones. And there certain dog food what the dog will eat. So all that dollar store dog food the dogs will not eat.
Are beggin strips good for small dogs?
i have been given my lil puppy beggin strips for most of her life, only small bits and pieces as a reward, but i recently read they are bad for her, what is an alternative for her to eat as a treat that is healthy as i am going to stop giving her the beggin strips but only give once in a while, she likes the soft bones you can get from tractor supply i think there milk bone ones, so are beggin strips good for dogs 10 lbs and under ? i am really worried now from reading they are not good for her i want to make sure she is healthy she is going to the vets soon for her check up
Should I get a Small dog for my Wife? Please Help !?
We have 2 siberian huskies me and my wife, and we love them to death. We rollerblade with them every weekend. One is 3 the boy and very relaxed, and the other the girl is almost a year, and very hyper. My wife and I had a SHORKIE shitzuh yorkie 6 months ago, and sadly she got hit by a car.. ever since my wife has been hinting towards another little dog. Looking at youtube videos, dogs 101, ect.. and most importantly, missing that " need you" mentality only a little dog can bring. Another question, if we did invest in another little dog, it would not cost to much money would it? I mean it would be nothing compared to our huskies who eat 4 cups dry food a day XD I think she just really misses an animal that 'needs' her.. we do not have children, and she sometimes gets lonely, even though she has two huskies. I guess she just cant cuddle with them the same..
Small dogs that hardly grow?
I'm buying my 6 year old brother a puppy. He pretty much have an idea of his new bestfriend. Small,fluffy,white.etc. But I also want a dog. Small dogs that hardly grow in size. Can someone answer this question with a list of dogs breeds. I really want to get him a dog,but it have to be a small one. Thank you.

im starting college this summer. i want a dog that will always stay little. meaning it doesn't get that big when it's fully grown. i also like the hypoallergenic dogs because i have alot of family that is allergic to dogs. im not looking to spend anymore than $400 $500. anyone know any sites or types of dogs that fit this description?
