What are the nicest, most trainable toy dog breeds out there?
I live in an apartment and am looking into buying a toy dog. Most of the breeds I have looked at including Poms and Pugs are either inclined to bite or difficult to housetrain. I want to find a toy breed that's friendly, affectionate, and relatively easy to housebreak. Is that possible? Feel free to report your experience with any particular toy breeds.
Anyone know of toy dog breeds shorter than 20-25 cm?

What toy dog breed should i get?
I am a student yes.But ive decided to get a puppy the day after school ends so ill have 3 months to train it.I must get a TOY breed, my mom demands on small dogs.I have had a dog before, just in case you were wondering. But heres something in a dog id like Doesn't shed alot a little bit is fine Isnt very active 1 or 2 walks a day is all it needs A good lap dog.& I'd be nice if it was a kind of dog that only really connected to its 'master'.So its not a family dog, just kind'of a single person dog.Thank you
Best toy dog breed?
I am looking for a very small lap dog and am wondering which one would be best.It would have to be one that likes attention and likes to cuddle and stuff. I don't like short haired chihuahuas...it would have to be a long haired one.. I was kind of thinking either Toy poodle, long haired chihuahua, long haired miniature daschund, pomeranian....and I don't know what else.
Any Recommended Toy Dog Breeds?
The hubby & I have been thinking about getting a toy breed we live with condo size restrictions so the dog must be small .Right now we are considering Mini Pins and Chihuahuas, I am however leaning toward the mini pin from what I've read they are relatively free of inherited diseases conditions and sound like they have the kind of 'doggy' personality I'm compatible with. I am open to other breeds.......I also love Boston terriers my grandmother grew up with Bostons and recently have been intrigued by the coated xolo, rat & Manchester terrier, toy fox terrier,& italian greyhound....mixed breeds can indeed apply as I am no doggy snob however as I stated I do have a size weight restriction.....we have a huge common area where doggies can be leash walked, however I'm arthritic so a high energy dog such as a Jack Russel isn't a good idea not fair to the dog ....and I am a stay at home wife so poochie will have constant companionship...along with our tuxedo cat as a buddy he's fine with dogs ...thanks for all answers So, any toy owners out there who can recommend their particular breed of 'baby'? I do prefer a short coated dog as I rather not deal with a dog that needs professional grooming and 'high maintenance' grooming at home, we live in a milder climate with short winters, at most a dusting of snow in winter, and my talented fingers are adept at crocheting doggie coats & sweaters my Mom had a mini dachshund ....thanx I'd like to add that I have no young children in the home as all my kids are grown, no grandkids yet but that wouldn't be an issue as I never leave young children & pets unsupervised when together.Cool answers from people with mini pins....now I am leaning toward a chihuahua.....still open to other suggestions....I would love to adopt a young adult dog.. the hubby, however, wants a puppy and that means I care train for the dog lol...I'm 'working' on him, tho...haha.lol oh my you people are making it so hard for me here but that's okay, great in fact I'm learning more this way than by just surfing the internet...wish someone with a Boston would answer........lol I prefer the larger dog infact if I had my druthers I'd have an Irish Wolfhound I had a 60 lb springer spaniel once, beautiful dog but my condo association says no dogs over 40 pounds so I'm stuck there......
