Why do many people say that working dog breeds are not for the first-time dog owner?
Have you heard any bad outcomes of this? Also what types of dogs should someone own first? How long?I meant how long as far as experience goes?I have an American Bulldog puppy. I've only had one other puppy a german shepherd but I was allergic. So I'm going to be a first time owner of an adult dog. I going to enroll in training classes. I'm keeping the dog regardless.

As I research before, I couldnt find breed differ from lab,german shepard,Dobi,Malonois,Dutch Shepard,beagle,golden retriever, pointer,setter,pitbull? I am looking for breed of SAR dogs, drug or bomb dedector dogs?I research all kind of web sites but couldnt find any different breed. for example how about Weim, Rhodesian ridgeback, Black Russian Terrier, German pincher, are they suitable for SAR or Dedector dogs?

Working dog breed lines?
Some of the breeds I truly admire are German Shephard, Belgian Malinois, Rottweiler, Doberman Pinscher. I am interested to know more about each of these breeds working bloodline. As of now, I know that GSD from Czech DDR Belgian line are good working dogs specially from a Czech PzS kennel, Mals from KNPV NVBK are good. But I don't know anything in particular and so, I ask this because I don't know where to begin if Google about bloodlines as I don't have a basic idea, hence I seek expert help.My intentions are to only gain knowledge, I don't want to adopt a puppy any time soon. And I was hoping if some of the knowledgeable posters like Greekman, CurtiesM and King could highlight their views upon it before other people start to jump in and flag this post. p because it has happened before when a user called Katy came by and hijacked the discussion. So, if you could own a dog, to do the job it was bred for, what would it be?I know a lot of people get their chosen breed, but not many people work their dogs anymore. Either because they cant, because of license problems, its illegal... the list goes on.So herding, sporting, working...Or, do you own a working breed?
