Question: Can a playstation 2 play a region 2 dvd?

Yes if the PS2 is originally from region 2. PS2 systems can only play DVDs and games from the same region. The US is Region 1. U would have to modify your system if it is not from Region 2. FYI: Region 2 is Europe.

I think it depends on where did you bought your ps2 , if you bought it in the region 2 area,you can play region 2 dvd on your ps2 directly,but if not , you can try make region free dvd from your region limit dvd, then try play the region free DVDs on your ps2, you can try RZ DVD COPY, it can remove region code limit and copy DVD to an other new DVD disc.You can yahoo search and download "RZ DVD COPY ", work well on my computer, easy to use, hope it can help you!
